RANGERS AUSTRALIA
Introducing Rangers

Rangers is a whole of life adventure based program for boys and girls aged 3 - 18. Participating in weekly meetings and scheduled camps, children earn badges and acquire Godly life skills. A Royal Ranger works towards the Gold or Silver Medal of Achievement and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Along the way badges are earned in each age group.
What do Rangers do?
We all develop Physically, Spiritually, Mentally and Socially. Activities reflect these areas and include camping and adventure outings, Christian Service, Bible, Family, Church, Physical Fitness, Craft and First Aid. Regular State and National camps provide positive interaction and fellowship.
Why the Uniform?
Rangers is a uniformed achievement based program. The uniform is used to:
- Create pride in appearance
- Develop self esteem
- Provide a sense of belonging
- Encourage unity and equality
- Assist with discipline
- Create a sense of responsiblility
- Encourage advancement and achievement
Rainbows are the youngest of all the groups. They enjoy craft, singing, parties, games and Bible stories.
Wallabys (Ages 5 - 6)The Australian Wallaby program provides opportunity to the youngest school age children to be involved in Rangers. They complete various tasks each week and achieve an advancement badge each term.
Stockhands (Ages 7 - 8)The Outback Australian theme of this program appeals to the children as they do weekly activities and Bible studies.
Basic life skills and activities are completed and the badges achieved are worn on a special award vest.
Pioneers (Ages 9 - 11)Designed to challenge boys and girls with the same vision and courage that our Australian Pioneers demonstrated. They enjoy games, hobbies, skills, trips and learn various life skills including first aid and camping.
Trailblazers (Ages 12 - 14)This adventure trail provides opportunity for the Rangers to complete a series of Advanced Awards, with over 130 separate subjects to choose from. Rangers work towards achieving a Gold or Silver Achievement Certificate. They also can begin working concurrently on the Bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh Award during this age group.
Trail Rangers (Ages 15 - 18)An extension of the Trailblazer program, a Trail Ranger continues to complete Advanced Awards, but becomes more involved in leadership and service in the Ranger Outpost and Church. A Trail Ranger can achieve either the Gold or Silver Medal of Achievement, and also the silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
